Business Development Manager – Direct Sales (Industrial team)

About Us:

Brook Green Supply (BGS) is an independent B2B energy supplier committed to providing energy supply and Net-Zero solutions to industrial and commercial consumers.

 

This is an existing role that continues to be fundamental to the success of driving the BGS new business growth of the CFP Energy Group.

 

The role and essential functions of the job:

  • Acquire accounts with energy consumption above approximately 25GWh to 100GWh’s, encompassing both electricity and gas customers.

  • Build long-term relationships with customers

  • Oversee and coordinate complex tenders from enquiry to deal acceptance, ensuring efficient and professional handling of bids to secure contract renewals and negotiate favourable terms for Brook Green Supply.

  • Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction.

  • Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets.

  • Generate leads and cold call prospective customers.

  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients.

  • Promote the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives.

  • Provide trustworthy feedback and pre-sales support.

  • Build initial relationships with new customers/prospects.

  • Help to plan sales campaigns.

  • create a target market sales pipeline

  • Determine pricing and deal structures to optimise propositions and drive growth. Collaborate with the Trading Desk team to structure appropriate proposals and products

  • Prepare and present regular reports to management on account performance and growth, providing insights into account performance, renewal rates, revenue growth, and potential opportunities for further development.

Job requirements

Key skills required:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, confident, credible, persuasive, and a collaborative team-player.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of the UK energy markets.

  • Experience in negotiating and selling fixed and flexible energy contracts.

  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to bring significant value to the BGS business.

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication and analytical skills, with the ability to articulate ideas and engage with a matrix audience.

  • Comfortable with taking ownership and proposing adjustments and improvements.

  • Ability to clearly present complex structures and solutions
