Brook Green Supply (BGS) is a leading independent B2B energy supplier, delivering tailored energy supply and decarbonisation solutions to industrial and commercial (I&C) consumers across the UK.

 

About the Role

We’re looking for a commercially minded Commercial Energy Analyst to join our growing Customer Energy Solutions team. Reporting to the Head of Industrial Sales and Solutions, you’ll play a key role in selling and structuring energy supply solutions to some of the UK’s largest and complex energy users. The position requires a blend of commercial acumen, technical understanding, and deep energy system knowledge. This role combines energy market and solutions expertise with direct customer engagement, where you’ll help drive growth, innovation, and long-term value for our I&C clients.

 

You’ll gain hands-on experience across our sustainability and flexibility services, subjects including power markets, REGOs, RGGOs, EV charging, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Capacity Markets, and Flexibility services. Your analysis and insights will directly contribute to growing BGS’s portfolio, shaping customer decarbonisation strategies, and integrating energy solutions seamlessly into clients’ supply arrangements.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Build and deliver tailored commercial solutions that help customers achieve their Net Zero and sustainability goals.

  • Work directly with clients, providing clear, actionable recommendations on complex energy challenges.

  • Act as an internal expert on products across the sustainability and flexibility market space.

  • Assess commercial risks and opportunities, helping to structure innovative energy supply contracts.

  • Collaborate closely with sales teams and account managers to deliver best-in-class customer experiences.

  • Analyse energy consumption, generation, and storage data to uncover trends and deliver value-driven insights.

  • Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations that translate technical findings and insight into commercially meaningful outcomes.

  • Ad-hoc tasks as required by management.

What You’ll Learn

  • Advanced commercial analysis and decision-making skills.

  • Practical understanding of sustainable energy supply solutions for industrial and commercial clients.

  • Ability to communicate and present complex commercial agreements and data sets.

  • Expertise in wholesale energy markets, pricing, forecasting, non-commodity costs, flexibility markets and sustainability products.

  • Management in delivery of commercial projects.

  • Data analysis and management in Excel, Python and SQL server.

  • Regulatory frameworks for both the Gas and Electricity markets.

We’re seeking someone who combines strong analytical ability with a proactive mindset, commercial awareness, and excellent communication skills. Someone who enjoys engaging with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and clients.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have a strong understanding of the energy transition and future market trends.

  • Are a confident communicator, able to simplify complex ideas for a range of internal and external stakeholders and clients.

  • Are comfortable with large data sets, able to analyse and generate insight.

  • Hold a STEM degree (2:1 or above) or have equivalent experience in a data-driven or analytical environment.

  • Are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.

  • Can balance independence with collaboration in a fast-paced, evolving business.
