Credit Controller – Collections Relationship Coordinator

We are recruiting for a person to take responsibility for our high value customer portfolio within the Credit Control department. You’ll take a lead role in overseeing customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and managing overdue balances with a professional, customer-focused, and strategic approach.

Essential functions of the job:

• Build effective relationships with brokers, managing agents and Account Managers to resolve any disputes that might arise.

• Proactively chase overdue balances via phone and email.

• Escalating debt with our solicitors and disconnection agents to minimize risk.

• Generate and circulate Aged Debt reports on a weekly basis.

• Coordinating with Operations and Sales teams to resolve queries and provide accurate information.

• Ensure any queries and payment issues are addressed and fulfilled according to SLAs.

• Managing a ledger of high value clients as part of our internal segmentation.

• Supporting other functions within the team as required.

Skills and experience required:

• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

• Self-motivated with a detail-oriented approach, committed to continuous learning and professional development.

• Intermediate (VLOOKUP & Pivot Table) to advanced Excel and analytical capabilities.

• Delivering tailored and relevant insights to stakeholders across the business.

• Commercial awareness and understanding of core account management principles.

• 2 to 3 years experience in a similar role within a Credit Control or Finance team.

Prior energy industry experience is welcome although not essential.
