Job summary:

The Product Owner will develop and deliver a vision and roadmap for all products within their business area based on input from internal stakeholders, customers (where applicable), market research, analytics and their own insight and experience.  

 

Ideal Candidate:  

You will be responsible for the planning, delivery and ongoing iteration of the products within the Logistics and Commercial Operations capability.  You will drive the analysis, architecture & development as well as alignment with business stakeholders to ensure the products meet the business and market needs.  

As part of the Product team, you will work to ensure that the trading products and capabilities align with the vision and strategy of the CFP Energy Group. 

 

Essential functions of the job:

 

Roadmaps:  

  • Translate business strategy into a product strategy and roadmap 

  • Develop key relationships with business stakeholders and create forums for regular feedback, idea generation, prioritisation and support 

  • Collect, manage and maintain all requirements and feedback from internal and external stakeholders 

  • Be the recognised expert in the business on the products, markets, relevant technologies and the competition 

  • Represent the voice of the customer in senior level management meetings 

Delivery 

  • Manage all products from ideation, through to delivery and ongoing iteration 

  • Evaluate the urgency and importance of upcoming requests, adjusting the roadmap if needed 

  • Produce product and market requirements 

  • Master agile methodology of product/feature lifecycle. 

  • Manage, maintain, and control product backlogs. 

  • Understand the performance of the delivery teams supporting the product for throughput, quality and standards. 

  • Drive the technical teams to deliver the agreed features and objectives. 

Performance 

  • Develop Key Performance Indicators capable of quantifying contribution/correlation between product use and client satisfaction and matter profitability. 

  • Monitor, report and improve product performance monthly 

Job requirements

Skills and experience required:  

  • Able to demonstrate product leadership, critical thinking and the ability to take the initiative 

  • Able to translate business strategy into product strategy 

  • Prioritised and owned a product roadmap and delivery pipeline 

  • Able to make decisions and delegate work and responsibility quickly and effectively. 

  • Desirable: Experience of logistics and commercial operations domain software. 

  • Highly skilled at influencing and communicating with senior business stakeholders. 

  • Comfortable writing and owning high-level business and technical requirements 

  • Experience of Agile and waterfall delivery 

  • Experience managing a complex and multi-product / market portfolio 

  • Creating, tracking and meeting product KPIs 

  • Analysis on workloads and trends with a focus on performance, data quality and potential areas for improvement via both training and application improvements
