About the Role 

 

We're seeking an experienced Product Owner to join the Brook Green Supply technology and product team, specifically focused on our operations stream of work. 

In this role, you'll serve as a strategic leader who bridges operational user needs with technological solutions, driving product development for our post-sales operations including invoicing, payment, customer lifecycle management, and third-party system integrations. You'll work closely with operations teams to understand their day-to-day challenges and build solutions that streamline processes from customer onboarding through to offboarding. 

 

Primary Responsibilities 

 

You will spend significant time understanding our operations teams and their workflows through direct research and analysis, ensuring our team builds solutions that truly optimise operational efficiency. Your key responsibilities include: 

 

Strategic Leadership 

 

·        Lead the product strategy for the operations stream of work within Brook Green Supply, focusing on post-sales customer lifecycle management 

·        Drive architectural decisions alongside technical leads to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability of the operations solutions including billing cycles 

·        Develop comprehensive product vision that aligns operational efficiency goals with overall business strategies and market opportunities 

 

 Technical & Product Architecture 

 

·        Partner with technical architects to design robust, scalable solutions that integrate seamlessly with key operations software including our CRM (HubSpot) and billing systems 

·        Guide technical decisions around system integration, API connectivity, and data flows between operational systems and third parties 

·        Ensure architecture decisions support both immediate operations needs and long-term platform scalability, balancing value-driven delivery to the business 

·        Oversee data synchroniszation and workflow automation between sales, operations, and billing platforms 

 

Continuous Discovery & Market Analysis 

 

·        Lead strategic discovery activities with operations teams, senior trading stakeholders, and key clients to understand operational pain points and workflow inefficiencies 

·        Work closely with design lead to make sure that UI designs are aligned to the Discovery needs 

·        Analyse market trends and competitor capabilities to identify opportunities for the growth of the product 

·        Drive innovation for the operation teams through market research and industry engagement, particularly around energy sector best practices 

 

Stakeholder & Program Management 

 

·        Present strategic updates and performance metrics to business stakeholders 

·        Lead governance forums with senior stakeholders to align on product direction for operations improvements 

·        Drive cross-functional alignment between operations, technology, and customer facing teams 

·        Manage relationships with strategic partners and vendors, particularly those involved in billing, CRM, and customer management integrations 

·        Present comprehensive business cases throughout the development cycle, demonstrating operational efficiency gains 

·        Lead executive-level sprint reviews showcasing business value and market impact 

 

Operations & Compliance 

 

·        Ensure product development adheres to energy industry regulations and compliance requirements, particularly around billing and customer data management 

·        Stay current with regulatory changes that impact operations teams and customer lifecycle processes 

·        Understand energy industry billing cycles, invoicing requirements, and customer lifecycle regulations 

 

Agile Leadership & Delivery Excellence 

 

·        Champion agile practices across multiple teams, establishing best practices for large-scale product development 

·        Guide agile ceremonies with a focus on maximizing business value and team effectiveness 

·        Lead planning sessions to align cross-functional teams on delivery objectives 

·        Drive continuous improvement of agile processes to optimise team performance and delivery outcome 

Job requirements

Required Experience

 

·        5+ years of product management experience, desire exposure to energy sector in an operational role 

·        Proven track record of delivering high-value products 

·        Strong understanding of technical architecture and system design principles, particularly for operational systems and integrations 

·        Experience working with agile teams to deliver complex operational solutions 

·        Knowledge of CRM systems (preferably HubSpot)

·        Understanding of customer lifecycle management, from onboarding through offboarding

·        Excellence in stakeholder management at executive level, with ability to translate operational needs into technical requirements 

·        Track record of managing complex, high-risk technology initiatives that include integrations with third parties 

·        Experience in post-sales operations, customer success, or similar operational functions within the energy industry 

·        Familiarity with API integrations and data synchronization between operational systems 

or
