Key responsibilities:

  • Origination & Sales: Build, develop and maintain relationships with corporate, industrial, and institutional clients in the energy and commodities sectors. Identify opportunities to originate and execute bespoke derivatives solutions, structured transactions, and risk management products.
  • Structuring & Execution: Lead the structuring and negotiation of OTC derivative transactions, including swaps, options, forwards, accumulators and other customized products. Work closely with internal teams (e.g., trading, credit, legal) to ensure seamless execution and delivery.
  • Market Intelligence: Provide clients with insights into market trends, regulatory developments, and price risks. Leverage expertise in commodity markets, including oil, gas, power, carbon, renewables, and agricultural products, to helping clients with optimal hedging strategies.
  • Solution Design: Collaborate with clients to understand their risk management needs and design tailor made solutions to address commodity price exposures, liquidity requirements, and financing objectives.
  • Risk Management: Work with trading and risk teams to ensure that client solutions are effectively managed and in line with internal risk policies and market conditions.
  • Cross-Selling: Identify cross-selling opportunities across the company's product suite, including financing solutions, physical supply, and advisory services.
  • Client Development: Drive new business development initiatives and expand the company’s footprint in the energy and commodities markets through active prospecting, networking, and participation in industry events.

Job requirements

Ideal Candidate:

  • Good commodities knowledge within a front office environment, with a focus on energy and commodities sectors.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with origination and negotiation of structured derivative transactions. Experience with structuring would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with European energy & environmental regulations and sustainability frameworks, experience in agri & soft and FX would be a plus.
  • Strong interest in environmental markets, sustainability, and climate change issues, with a specific focus on European markets.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and market trends in the European market.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
