The candidate will be hands-on, both advising on the architecture of potential new systems and processes, as well as being involved in the details of testing and transition.

Key responsibilities:

  • Low-hanging-fruit improvements to current practices, especially tightening of Excel processes

  • Working with SMEs to identify and analyse current financial processes, systems, and workflows to pinpoint areas for enhancement.

  • Ensuring big-picture understanding and potential wider-group impacts of changes.

  • Documenting and standardising financial processes across different departments.

  • Managing finance systems upgrades, including testing and documentation.

  • Understanding of accounting principles, ideally backed by a qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).

  • Experience working with subject matter experts across departments to gather requirements.

  • Strong written and verbal communication to translate between tech/IT, finance, and ops teams.

  • Experience in commodity trading, energy, or utilities industries is highly desirable, but not essential.
