Role
As a Trade Operations Assistant within our dynamic London-based team, you will be responsible for critical post-trade operations, including cash and inventory settlements, confirmation and invoice generation, internal and external reporting, and resolving trade-related issues. This role requires close collaboration with trading, sales, legal and other teams to ensure seamless trade processes while driving efficiency through process improvements and automation.
Essential functions of this job:
Preparing and reviewing trade confirmations to ensure the accuracy of all its economic, financial and legal terms.
Issuing and reconciling trade related invoices.
Ensuring timely cash and inventory settlements.
Instructing daily transfers of carbon emission certificates.
Managing the end-of-day inventory reconciliation.
Assisting with new registry account setup.
Leasing with various departments within the company, including finance, risk, compliance, sales and trading, to ensure any operational issues are resolved in an efficient and timely manner.
Ensuring the systematic management of operational records and information.
Performing all other duties as assigned by the line manager.
Job requirements
Skills and Experience required:
Understanding of financial products & derivatives (e.g. forwards, futures, swaps, options).
Trade operations experience in the energy industry will be considered as an advantage.
Excellent MS Excel skills, with the ability to analyse and manipulate large datasets.
High attention to detail, thorough, and diligent in task execution.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative mindset.
Strong problem-solving abilities with a logical and solution-focused approach.
Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
Flexible and proactive attitude toward work, with a willingness to adapt to changing demands.
